Both Isaiah and Katlin were born and raised in Duplin & Sampson County and are natives to the area. They are avid dog lovers who have four dogs themselves. Their dogs are Fiodor (Isaiah's retired bomb dog from Afghanistan), Otis (the old, lazy man of the house), Oakley (the littlest with the biggest personality) and Noodle the Doodle (the youngest). Isaiah's love for dogs really began when he became a Police K9 handler/trainer for the Town of Warsaw, NC. Although he started in a small town, his experiences there opened the doors for opportunities around the world. He spent two years working as a rotational explosive detection canine handler/trainer at the United States Embassy in Kubal, Afghanistan. During his time there, Isaiah provided explosive screenings for various needs at the US Embassy and maintenance training for other canine teams working operationally. After completing his time there, Isaiah came back home to Duplin County and began working with pet owners to help address their needs, ranging from dog obedience to dog aggression. In November of 2021, he was given the opportunity to work for Grammy Award Winning, country musician Eric Church's United States Tour. He worked handling explosive detection and COVID-19 detection dogs at stops across the country. The dogs he worked with have been featured in numerous national and local publications, including the Rolling Stone, New York Post and others. Since completing his time with Eric Church, Isaiah has focused solely on pet obedience and behavior modification services.
Katlin began her career as a teacher in the public school system, but as the demand for dog training grew over time, she stepped in and filled a valuable role. Katlin works with clients to schedule, communicate, and facilitate training- she's probably who you are going to talk to!
Isaiah and Katlin both are firmly committed to their clients success and do not believe that Bark and Bone's role stops at graduation from a training course. Instead, they make every client and dog part of their Bark and Bone family and are always there to help when needed. They are so excited about their new facility in Mount Olive, NC and how it will allow them to help more families achieve peace at home with their dogs.
